Built by a local candidate, for local candidates

CandidateLaunch grew out of a county council race in Berkeley County, South Carolina.

Why this exists

Leroy Godfrey Jr. ran for Berkeley County Council, District 6, in 2026. Like most local candidates, he didn't have a campaign manager, a press shop or a web team. He had a laptop, a lot of public hearings to sit through, and neighbors who wanted straight answers.

So he built his own campaign site. It had the usual pages, but the part that mattered most was a living scorecard on a large rezoning in the district: every open question, what the county had answered, and what was still unresolved, updated as the votes came. Neighbors used it. Reporters used it. It turned a website from a brochure into a tool for keeping score.

Along the way it became obvious how few local candidates have anything like that. The national campaign platforms are built for Senate and governor's races and treat a school board seat as their cheapest tier. Some serve only one party. And all of the cheap options still leave the writing, the photos and the setup to a candidate who has doors to knock.

CandidateLaunch is the fix: a finished site, written with you, live in a week, for candidates of any party and none.

How we work

  • Nonpartisan, for real. We build for Republicans, Democrats, independents and nonpartisan races on the same terms. We don't endorse and we don't take sides in races we build for.
  • One published price. No private deals, because a private discount can be a campaign contribution. Our fair pricing policy explains it.
  • We never touch the money. Donations go straight to your own processor.
  • Your list is yours. Volunteer and email sign-ups belong to your campaign and are never reused.
  • Readable first. Large type, strong contrast and plain language, because voters read on small phones in bright parking lots, and many of them are older than your web designer.
  • Think long. Leroy's rule of thumb is to measure your decisions by the century, not by the moment. Your domain and your record should outlast one election, so we build them to.
